We need your archives, photographs, old newspapers, notes, home  movies.  Get a tax deduction and help shape the future.  ​

We also need donations to process the materials we acquire.                      to make sure the story can be told.

Acquisition of 

Gracia Molina de Pick's Papers and Art

 

Gracia Molina de Pick is an internationally known activist in Chicana/o Studies and women's rights.

 

She recently donated the record of her life's work, more than 40 boxes of material, along with books and art to the SDSU Chicana/o Archive. 

 

Gracia is depicted on the first page of our website along with other Chicanas  who support the archive.

 

We will be having a reception to honor Gracia in March 2015 and would invite you to contribute to help us match the generous gift Gracia has given our collection.

 

 

 

 

Mateo Camarillo's collection

 

Mateo Camarillo has been a community activist for more than fifty years.  Receving his Masters in Social Work from SDSU he cofouned the group Trabajadores de la Raza to advocate for the Latino poor.  He was a cofounder of the Chicano Federation, the San Ysidro Health Clinic, the first Spanish language Television station in San Diego, and was key in many other local organizations.     Mateo wrote a book based on his life's work entitled,

An Immigrant's Journey In Search of the American Dream.   It is based on the documents he has donated to the archvie.

Mateo has also done a video interview highlighting  his career and the archives he donated to the SDSU Library.
